Why Are We Steepleless

In Acts chapter 2, Luke records the format of the first-century church. Instead of the traditional American church model, Verse 46 and 47 tell us, "They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

The house church model is still used by Disciple-Making Movements around the world. In places like India, East Asia, and Africa, small groups of believers who are dedicated to extraordinary prayer and sharing the Good News of Jesus are seeing thousands and even hundreds of thousands come to the saving grace of Christ's salvation and are meeting together in ordinary homes.

Because we don't have the overhead of a brick and mortar church, combined with simple, almost cost-free methods of discipleship, we are able to share the Gospel, help people to be born again, be baptized, and make disciples who make disciples.
